ON ADVANCEMENT BOOKINGS, THE DEPOSITOR AGREES TO BE BOUND BY OUR BELOW TERMS AND CONDITIONS. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY.

Safari Reservations

At Spiky Tours, pricing costs involves all the activities carried out on a particular safari package, current exchange rates of different tariffs and governments taxes. Mode of payments and deposits are made through our direct bank transfers or any other methods of money transfer which you will be notified before making payments. A 30% deposit is made once on confirmation, full balance payable on arrival.

Any tour and safari deposit paid shall be refunded less the cost of cancellation fees levied by hotels and administrative costs as follows:

  • Number of days Percentage forfeited of safari
  • More than 40 days full refund less 5% of the administration fee.
  • 13-40 days 20% of tour price.
  • 7-14 days 30% of the tour price.
  • Less than 5 days or no show up, No refunds.

Please note that refunds will be done within 30 days after cancellation of the tour safaris.

Rates Information

  • Our rates should be used as a guideline only.
  • All rates are subject to availability.
  • Rates may vary according to seasons and dollar fluctuations.
  • All rates may change without notice.
  • Single supplement at extra cost.

Modification of tour

If you choose to modify the arrangements after the commencement of the tour like changing accommodation or the duration of your stay, Spiky Tours shall accept no liability for any loss or additional expense and no refunds will be made.

Tour prices include:

  1. All expenses for drivers and vehicles appropriate for the itinerary as set out i.e. for transfers, game drives, drivers allowances unless otherwise stated in the itinerary.
  2. Government taxes.
  3. Hotes and Lodges service charges.
  4. All park entry fees except where specifically indicated separately.
  5. Payments of mountain guides, porters and cook services where applicable.

Tour price exclude:

  1. Personal insurance health and travel.
  2. Airport taxes, landing fees for charters and visas except stated otherwise in the itinerary.
  3. Gratuities to drivers, guides, cooks and porter
  4. Meals and beverages not specified on your itinerary.
  5. Laundry, other personal expenses of tour members (i.e. telephone calls etc).
  6. Hiking and rock climbing equipments for Mt Kenya, Rwenzori and Kilimanjaro mountains.
  7. Any other tour services requested that do not appear in the itinerary.

Safari booking and accommodation.

  1. Our safari package are based on two persons sharing in a twin room tents/ hotel rooms.
  2. Single rooms are provided at an additional cost.
  3. Hotels/lodges/tented camps are named as an in the category of accommodation and if the need arises may be reserved at same standard of hotel/lodges/tented camps. In the event that this happens we undertake to notify you of any changes to your safari accommodation in advance.

Liability

  1. Spiky Tours Company and its employees act only as agents of the passenger in all the matters relating to hotel accommodation, sightseeing, tour and transport whether by aircraft, rail, motor vehicle, boat or any related travel services. We assume no responsibility whatsoever for injuries, illness, damage of personal property in connection resulting from act of God, Nature, detention, quarantine, strikes, thefts, government restrictions to changes that has no control.
  2. Spiky Tours reserves the right to make any changes of the itineraries for the comfort and safety of our clients.
  3. We also reserves the right to refuse stubborn individuals from a safari without refund who acts in unsafe manner to themselves or to fellow travellers and ignores the requests of the guide to act in a responsible way.
  4. The Company’s liability to passengers carried in our vehicles is governed by the laws of the respective country in which services are provided and no other country, and all the claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the respective country in which the services were provided.

Passports and Visas

The client is required to ensure that their passport and travel documentation is in order and that they have obtained the necessary visas for their journey. Single entry Visas are available online.

Basic Requirements

  • Valid travel document not less than six months.
  • A Return ticket

Validity

An East Africa Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

Travelling Insurance

At Spiky Tours, we recommend you to acquire a short – term traveler’s insurance policy to cover in case of baggage loss, accident, medical emergencies, helicopter evacuation while on the mountains and trips cancellations.

Health and Vaccinations.

In the Kenyan government travelers require to confirm whether or not they have a COVID-19 Negative PCR test certificate, which must have been issued a maximum of 96 hours before departure from the first embarkation point for most passengers. However, diplomatic passport holders must have had the PCR test taken at most 7 days before their date of arrival in Kenya.

It is advisable that you notify us your health and medical condition if any, disabled, allergic or in need of any medical attention when undertaking our tours and safaris.
