Lake Manyara National park is located between the alkaline Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley. Its a protected area by the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA). The park is accessible in 1.5 hours from Arusha city by vehicle.
The shallow waters of the lake makes it easy for animals to feed easily on the marshlands as even during the rainy seasons, the lakes fullest is 4 metres deep. The park also is rich in flora and a small forest with Mahogany, Accaia and fig trees.
What to See
The park is famous for its tree climbing lions unusual behavior but from their environment. Other wildlife residents in this park includes; Elephants, hippos, thousands of Flamingos, primates in the woodlands and crowned eagles among many others bird life.
When to Go
