4 Days Olpejeta and Samburu Safari

Samburu National Reserve is rich in colorful local Samburu people and abundant wildlife such as Leopard, Lions, Elephants, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy Zebras and Crocodiles in the Ewaso Nyiro river. There is also over 360 bird’s species have been identified.

Olpejeta conservancy is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary, home to the only northern white rhinos remaining in the world and the only place in Kenya to see Chimpanzees. OlPejeta holds the highest number of predators per acre in Laikipia (lions, cheetahs, leopards and wild dogs)

Day To Day Plan

Day 1 : NAIROBI – SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Drive time; 6-7Hrs from Nairobi

Meals; Lunch & Dinner.

Accommodation at either;

ECONOMY; Samburu Simba Lodge

STANDARD; Simba Lodge/similar

LUXURY; Elephant Bedroom, Samburu Sopa Lodge/similar.

Depart Nairobi hotel at 7am and drive along the great North Road passing the Kenya central Highlands to plain lands arriving Samburu lodge or similar for lunch. Later in the day experience an evening game drive and return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2:FULL DAY SAMBURU

Meals; Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Accommodation at either;

ECONOMY; Samburu Simba lodge/similar

STANDARD; Samburu Simba Lodge/similar

LUXURY; Elephant bedroom, Sopa Lodge/similar.

Leave your camp after an early breakfast for a half day game viewing returning back later for lunch. In the evening you too head out for game viewing before sundown. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 3:SAMBURU – NAYUKI HOTEL

Meals; Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

LUXURY; Serena sweetwaters camp, Sarova Maiyan/similar.

Start with an early morning game drive and return to the camp for breakfast. Check out the park at around 9am passing through a Samburu community village for a cultural ceremony. Commence with your journey to Nanyuki for overnight.

Day 4:FULL DAY OLPEJETA - NAIROBI

Wake up for an early breakfast welcoming a bright day here in the wilderness and check out for a game drive in search for carnivores on their hunt such the big cats, lions, cheetahs, leopards, also Elephants, Rhinos, and many others. As the sun gets hotter, animals tend to take refuge under shades so as for you it’s a good time to resume back in your camp for lunch. Later in the day visit the Baraka blind Rhino, learn his story, engage with rangers, feed him and learn more about conservation.
