Bwindi national park is one of Uganda’s best tourist attraction destination for its unique forests and the habitation of the human closest relatives live. Gorilla trekking is a full day task involving steep hill climbing and muddy. The trekking takes 1 to 8 hours trying to locate these magnificent creatures.
Equip yourself with real hiking boots and rain proof gear as they are more than a fashion statement. Here is an 3 days itinerary starting from Kampala or Entebe and back.
After a debrief of the tour by your guide, leave the city in a 4×4 land cruiser heading South West. Lunch will be provided en-route at Mbarara town. The journey takes you the rolling highlands of Uganda commonly known as “Switzerland’s of Uganda” and the Mbarire drum making community. The whole distance takes about 8 to 9 hours of drive. Meal plan; Lunch and Dinner.
Have an early breakfast and leave for the Bwindi National Park entrance gate. Here you will be briefly addressed by the park rangers on safety measures for the Gorillas, their conservation, importance and your own safety. Start the trekking in the forest thickets on steep landscapes following animal trails crossing to every directions.
With the help of the ranger guides, its easier to locate Gorillas from their last day location. Once you locate them, you will stay with them for quite sometime taking photos and making no noises. Head back to your hotel for overnight. Meal plan; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Leave your hotel for Kampala, Entebe or onward destination to Queen Elizabeth national or to the famous lake Bunyonyi.
